Creating A New
Community Of Producers
What we do
Founded in 2007 at Banard College in New York City, Gender Amplified is a non-profit organization that aims to celebrate women and gender-expansive music producers, raise their visibility and develop a pipeline for them to build equity in the music industry.
The movement also connects passion for music with technical skills that can be used in a wide range of scientific and arts based fields, areas in which women are traditionally underrepresented.
Core Goals
Network Building
To develop a national network of women music producers by creating and maintaining a website that archives their stories, production resources, and contact information.
Gender Inclusivity
To cultivate inclusive communication across all genders, identifying allies who share our ethos on music production throughout the gender spectrum.
Event Curation
To produce community events that highlight the works and accomplishments of producers interested in pursuing careers in music production and related fields.
Create Safe Spaces
To construct and support safe production studio environments where women and gender-expansive individuals can learn music production from their peers and renowned industry professionals
Address STEM & STEAM
To assess the impact learning music production has on success in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) subjects and related fields.
