PRODUCER PROFILE: BEARCAT

Bearcat is the alias of London born, Philadelphia based, artist Kerrie Ann Murphy. Bearcat is a DJ, producer, and makeup artist who has also offers creative direction for events such as Afropunk and Glastonbury. She has DJ’ed sets for artists including 21 Savage, CupcakKe, and bbymutha and has performed at the MoMA, Guggenheim, 29Rooms, and Afropunk among others.

In her teens, Bearcat struggled with homelessness and began working as a makeup artist keeping her musical aspirations to herself. Soon those aspirations were realized and now Bearcat makes music described by Discwoman as “bass-heavy uncompromising, powerful mixes that harness a symbiotic energy between the music and the crowd to generate the perfect soundtrack to any event.”

She’s received a good amount of media coverage and has interviews available to read with WWD, FADER, and Red Bull Music Academy.
